photon
Dear group, in my imaging process I could automate everything, except one thing: Turning the telescope fan on. Currently this is possible only using the Autoslew GUI. Therefore I would desire to implement an API call in Autoslew to set the Fan speed (the same extended ASCOM calls as already used for MotorOn/Off, LaserOn/Off, etc.). lukepower
+1 from me, would definitively make sense It would be even better if there would be something like a temperature control/reading to use (but I guess that would need some external sensor)
mattssporre
Why not have an option in AS that, when checked turns on the fan automatically? Maybe not as fancy but it would help me at least. BRMatts
photon
*up* after 3 years. Maybe someone at ASA finally finds time to implement this or at least what Matts suggested. - Gerald
nomis
Hello Gerald (photon), I do not have an answer to your question .... sadly. But you may have an answer to my question: You said there is an extended ASCOM command to turn the motors ON/OFF ? Can you tell me what this command is ? Is there some place where all these extra commands are listed/documented ? Thanks
lukepower
Hm there is a file named "AutoslewUpgradeReport.txt" in the install directory with the changelog. And it mentions that features...

lukepower
Well, most of the commands are from the ASCOM interface. There is also a CommandBlind function which is not documented. Seems that Sequence is using it to send the MLPT measurements to Autoslew, but maybe it has some other functions, too.
