chlopak
Hi, can anyone explain me how to use the "Track on Comets" feature of autoslew in practise? How do I get the Delta Speed in RA and DE for comet ISON on let's say December 1st, 7 o'clock, just to have an example? Thanx in advance for your answers. Gerald
Dear Ralph, You can download comet ephemerides for you planetary software at: http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau/Ephemerides/SoftwareEls.html E.g. with "The Sky" one can evaluate the DE and RA speed of the comet in arc seconds per second for a given date. best regards Gerald
MichiP
Hi Gerald, is it necesarry to insert a information into Autoslew or is it enough to click on the comet when using The Sky? Regards, Michael
Gerald
Hi Michael, No, the sky only informs Autoslew about the position of the comet but nothing about his move speed and directions. You have to do it manually. Gerald
