whwiii
apologies if this is a FAQ i have pointing model which works reasonably well, but somehow got off by a bit. every night i power the DDM60 up, do a home find and slew to a star, the mount is off by several degrees. i point to the correct location, sync and it works fine for the rest of the evening. next night i start up and the mount is off by 2 degrees in the exact same direction. have tried saving the settings after sync to no avail. can someone tell me the exact steps necessary to correct the offset? thanks -bill w astro.whwiii.net astrowhw.blogspot.com/
Daniel Schmid
Hi Bill Have you tried to set the new home position after a successful sync with your pointing model? Then don't forget to save all settings before quit! Whenever I have such a problem this is the reason for the offset during startup. If it does not work try this: 1. Create new pointing model 2. Save and use on next start 3. Set new home position 4. Save all settings 5. Try to restart Autoslew, do a home find and now you should have your target centered again. Good luck! GeorgeCarey
It is also a good idea to check the clock in the PC. Is the offset in RA only or RA and DEC?
