They are, and the backlog is quite big. A friend of mine ordered one last year with delivery scheduled after 5 months (right before Christmas), he got it this year in April  :)

I discovered today that the latest version of CCD AutoPilot has an "ASA Slew" option, with the following explanation in the help file:

ASA Slew: When checked, CCDAutoPilot will run whatever application is entered after the mount has slewed to the target either at the beginning of a target session of after crossing the meridian.  This is used for ASA mount training. To enter an application, hit the NavigateButton.png to navigate to the specific application to be run.  If the application requires any arguments to follow the application, enter them manually in the arg space. To clear an entry, simply hit Cancel after hitting NavigateButton.png

I wonder if there is a new feature around that I don't know about. ASA mount training sounds to me like MLPT...

Hi Lukas,

I also discovered it  into last CCDAP5 version. Unfortunately I have same questions as you. I really don´t know if / how to implement MLPT on to CCDAP5...

So--i continued imaging with just Sequence.... But I would like to use again also CCDAP5. .Nothing new.. I guess.

I suspect a lot of hidden functionality is included in ASA software for professional observatories but not documented for amateur users.

I found a rather old project of mine (about 2 years now) where I reverse engineered the MLPT functions in Sequence.

It seems to work. I know that this is not the nice British way of solving this kind of issues, but nobody at ASA is doing it and this is a proof that it wouldn't be difficult at all:

Of course I never tested it to the end, but it actually seems to work  :)

A quick comparison to a 'real' MLPT run with Sequence seems to yield the same results.

Hehe yes it is.

Everybody knows that... I just hate the lame excuses like 'it's a lot of work' or 'Nobody needs it'

So... Is this possible to implement in SGPro?
I really wanna use a better program than Seq.

Indeed that would be great.  I would love to use it with SGP.

I volunteer to be a lab rat for further experiments if you someone to test this with SGP.

I also own CCDAP5.

Guys,

I talked to Wolfgang Promper today who is also interested in using MLPT from within automation (ACP or CCD Autopilot, basically). As he knows Philipp Keller he will approach him directly. Maybe he can get him to create the needed code...

Well, first of all ASA would need to offer some sort of interface to start an MLPT run from other programs, may it be a COM interface for scripting or a little command line program.

Then one needs to invoke that function from the automation program used. In CCD Autopilot there is this function, which seems alright.

In ACP one can use a custom UserAction to do so.

In SGP I have no idea if it can be done or not. What you need is a way of calling an external program before imaging but after the slew to the target is completed, ideally with the total imaging time as an argument.
